Remember this from #TBW:

Leave it better than you found it (locker room, pool deck, weight room, bus, etc.).

We're doing a great job with this, especially w/covering up the pool!

Schedule Changes & More!

Sixteen (16) schools competed in Lufkin yesterday.  Our girls were 10th and the boys were 11th.  We finished 12th in combined scoring.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Check Google Classroom for updated Scouting Report Monday afternoon.  We will decided on district events Tuesday.  District entry meeting is Wednesday.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Message from Mark that impeller is out and company to repair will be here Tuesday or Wednesday.

Best case scenario would be repair Tuesday so circulation/chemicals/water temp would allow us to swim/dive Wednesday afternoon.

Going with that optimistic "plan", here's what the new practice schedule for the week would look like:

Monday

No Practices
Scouting Report in GC (afternoon)

News

Former Blackcat AD Lupe Florez has passed away.  Coach Florez was a tremendous supporter of our swimming program.  He will be greatly missed.

The 2014-15 season ended without a team or coach.  Bay City HS was not present for the 2015 district championships.  Coach Florez made certain that Bay City would have a team the following year, bringing yours truly out of retirement and expressing 100% support for BCHS swimming & diving.

He also allowed us to add a junior high program.  Lupe attended our district meet in Victoria as a volunteer timer.  He was genuinely impressed with our kids at that meet - one in which we had a freshman, Hannah Sliva, win the 500 free.

A memorial service is schedule for Saturday, December 9, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.:

National Hall SPJST Lodge 92
3316 Roberts Cut-Off Rd.
Fort Worth, TX  76114

Cards & condolences to:

I've been trying to shake an illness for past couple of weeks - I'm at around 80% right now.

Was unable to open gate this a.m.  I let Kelly & Mark know the code wasn't working.  Hoping we'll be able to get in this afternoon.

Note evening workout times will change in December.

Exam week practices are "TBA" on schedule.  I'll update those soon.

Reminders

There was PLENTY of IMPORTANT info on a past last week.  Review it here

Please contact Kim Sliva ASAP so we can add to our concession stand work schedule:

Also, please drop off your case of water to the pool by Thursday.

We'll need several crock pots for nacho cheese.  Lisa Moya suggests using liners to make clean-up easier.

In case we don't sell out of all items Friday, we'll use those for our October 21 Bay City Relays concession stand.

BCHS Swimming/Diving #TBW reminder:

Focus on academics:  Don't put off homework, getting help, and/or studying for tests/quizzes.  Also, remember to be the most respectful student in each class.
