The Fifth Stroke

Use a great dolphin kick to become a better butterflyer, backstroker, and freestyler.  It'll also help you improve on breaststroke pullouts.  The Race Club has posted several great videos on the "Fifth Stroke":

Thirteen down,...

...and eight to go.

We're making great progress!  Coach Hagg and I have a goal of teaching twenty-one (21) skills in the month of September.  With a week and a half to go in the month, we're down to just eight (8) more.

Today's butterfly work went very well.  Keep up the great work!

We'll focus on our fly turns tomorrow:

First Practice

Those who turned in bus forms to me are eligible to ride on the Route #9 bus, starting Tuesday.

Of course you'll:

1) introduce yourselves to the driver,
2) follow her instructions,
3) be a courteous rider, and
4) thank her for the lift!

If you haven't turned in a form, you'll be using your personal transportation to the pool.  Please drive safely and park properly.

If you haven't turned in a form & don't have your own way to practice, please get your form to me ASAP!!  It may take a day or two for the paperwork to go through so you can ride.  Hustle!!

Ear Mix Solution (Originally posted on 9/25/15)

Years ago, former swimmer Ron Karnaugh had a simple solution swimmers used to prevent ear infections.  We used to squirt some in each ear after each practice.

50% rubbing alcohol + 50% vinegar = 100% prevention?

Want to learn more about Dr. Karnaugh?  How about Olympic swimmer Ron Karnaugh?  Sure you do!  Check it out here.
