Real Sport

In the swimming community we often hear complaints that we're not treated like a "real sport".

I can assure you that your coaches treat swimming like a "real sport".

So do our administrators, our school board, and our taxpayers.

Unfortunately, it's often our participants who treat swimming less so.

On Sunday, I posted instructions on turning in parkas, warm-ups, backpacks, drag suits, & tech suits.

On Monday, I went over those instructions during 8th period athletics.

This morning, five (5) of twelve (12) athletes turned in items.

Of those five (5), only two (2) turned in all items listed.

Was I disappointed?  Yes.

Was I surprised?  No.

Should y'all be surprised with the major changes that are coming?  No.

This Week

Tentative!!  Changes likely!!

Please send me pictures from region meet!

We finished 12th in both girls' and boys' team scoring - our best team finish in many years!

via Jody Estraca

Stephen E is the lone District 27-5A state meet qualifier.  He'll work out a different schedule than this.

Instead of time trials this week, we'll start collecting clothing/gear and transition to your spring sport.

We've seen tremendous growth in our athleticism over the course of this school year.  Y'all can help our spring sports.  Tennis, golf, & track need you.  Help them out!
