The Week(s) Ahead
As a team, we've not been in the water much these past two (2) weeks. We need to put up as much "hay in the barn" as possible in December! Look at your handbooks and make plans to attend as many practices as possible over the break.
Take care of your studies NOW. Don't wait until the last minute to wrap up projects, study for tests, etc. When you let things slide, you're tempted to miss practices to make up for it. You can budget your time and allow enough for BOTH academics and athletics.
This Week:
Monday
1. Dry-land
2. Swim/Dive until 5:15
3. El Campo entries
Tuesday
1. Meet set-up
2. Diving event start 4:30

Great Start
We had a great start to the week today!
Dry-land was brutal, but we survived.
Backstroke set was tough, but we survived that, too.
It's important that we train consistently, kiddos.
Make it a point to be at every practice every day.
You will see big-time improvement if you'll train day in and day out.

Swimming/Diving #TBW
Our swimmers and divers did a nice job of this at our meet in Rosenberg. Y'all interacted well with one another and our opponents.
Exhibit outstanding sportsmanship: Win or lose, congratulate opponents and teammates on their efforts every time.
FloSwimming is Back!
FloSwimming was a very popular swim site a few years ago. The site went dark for a few years and is back in business.

This Week
First, check out this week's quote.
We're going to find a way to get better this week - with or without a pool. Get to practice and do your best. Overcome any barriers you've put in front of yourselves.
We got to see Aussie distance swimming legend Kieren Perkins swim in the '99 US Open in San Antonio. Perkins finished a close second in the "mile" (1500 meter freestyle) to the next outstanding distance swimmer, fellow countryman Grant Hackett. We witnessed "the changing of the guard" in men's distance swimming.
Perkins had won gold in '92 & '96 and Hackett went on to win in both '00 & '04.
Every year, Texas college and club programs host high-level meets that draw big-time swimmers. With a little planning, you can see current and future superstars in person.
Okay, back to this week. For at least a day or two, we'll be doing strength and flexibility training only. As soon as the pool's available, we'll get back to swimming/diving.
Monday
Dry-land until 4:15
Tuesday
1. Brazosport dual postponed
2. Dry-land
3. Swim until 5:00*
Wednesday
1. Dry-land
2. Freestyle Swim Test Set*
3. Swim until 5:00*
Thursday
1. Dry-land
2. Swim until 5:00*
Friday
1. 8th period in classroom
2. Attend home playoff game (wear your swim shirt)
*If pool repairs are completed and water chemistry/temperature permits. Otherwise, same as Monday.
